Dr. Pieter Jan Van Asbroeck
Dr. Van Asbroeck is the head of the department of Emergency Medicine campus Genk, and the medical coordinator of the Limburg Care Centre after Sexual Assault. He is a passionate emergency physician with a keen interest in disaster management and toxicology. He holds a postgraduate degree in disaster management and possesses the certificate of Director Command Post Operations (Dir CP-OPS), where he serves as deputy during disasters. Additionally, he has a Master of Business Administration degree, providing insights into another aspect of healthcare. He serves as the vice-chairman of the Belgian professional association of emergency medicine (BeCEP). Additionally, he is the trainee supervisor for Emergency Medicine trainees, and sits on the recognition committee for Emergency Medicine. Moreover, he is dedicated to the evolution of emergency departments and prehospital care, including involvement in organizations such as Vlaamse Academie voor Urgentiegeneeskunde, de Federale Raad voor Dringende Geneeskundige Hulpverlening. He also is a board member of the deontological disciplinary board for the province of Limburg.
