Comprehensive, Standardized Training Curriculum
Our comprehensive locoregional anesthesia curriculum includes immersive, hands-on clinical training in a variety of nerve block techniques essential for a broad range of surgeries, including orthopedic, abdominal, thoracic, and gynecological procedures. Residents and fellows gain direct experience with cutting-edge ultrasound-guided nerve blocks and other advanced techniques, empowering them to deliver highly effective pain management.
Research and Academic Involvement
In addition to our robust clinical training, we actively promote scientific research in the field of locoregional anesthesia. International Reputation
Ziekenhuis Oost-Limburg is home to NYSORA headquarters, which publishes three gold-standard textbooks on regional anesthesia and pain medicine, forming the core educational curricula for many universities worldwide. Our fellows collaborate with leading experts to contribute to the development and revision of these textbooks, including Regional Anesthesia, Acute Pain Medicine, and Peripheral Nerve Blocks. Fellows actively engage in writing, editing, and updating these textbooks, as well as the educational materials on NYSORA.com.
Scientific Writing and Collaboration
Throughout the year, we organize writing sessions for fellows and staff to enhance their scientific writing skills. These group sessions, held in NYSORA’s conference room, foster collaboration as the team reviews new literature, develops research protocols, and contributes to the writing of book chapters, teaching materials, and scientific papers.
Leadership Development
Exposure to presentations and lecturing opportunities at NYSORA’s national and international workshops and symposia provides our fellows with a unique chance to develop leadership skills in the specialty while advancing their scholarly and educational abilities.
